Senior Accountant Opportunity

About the Role

The Senior Accountant performs accounting for Franchise and Concession businesses and ensuring all intercompany entries within the North America and Europe reporting units are properly recorded.

- Perform accounting for the North America Franchise business. Ensure sales and cost of sales are imported to the general ledger correctly.

- Prepare and provide margin reports to senior management each month.

- Ensure all letter of credit details are up to date and accurate for each franchisee.

- Work with Europe accounting team and third party provider to ensure proper application of all royalty income receipts. Provide reconciliations for franchise-related balance sheet accounts to management.

- Perform accounting for the North America Concessions business. Ensure sales and commission expenses are reconciled. Provide weekly detailed accounts receivable reporting to the business. Reconcile monthly sales activity recorded by company to sales activity reported by concession partner. Reconcile monthly accounts receivable activity recorded by company to accounts payable activity reported by concession partner. Provide reconciliations for concession-related balance sheet accounts to management.

- Supervise all inter-company accounts payable and accounts receivable monthly transactions between North America, Corporate and multiple Europe entities ensuring that transactions are properly recorded, foreign exchange differences are entered correctly, and inter-company accounts payable and accounts receivable balances eliminate between entities each month

- Prepare and record several types of monthly inter-company entries for allocation and expense recharges for tax, rent, operating costs, interest, foreign exchange movements, etc

- Maintain general ledger for certain Europe holding companies. Make general ledger entries to these entities as appropriate and manage all inter-company entries for these holding companies.

- Track inter-company cash movements between Europe and North America and provide monthly reporting

About You

- BS / BA in Accounting preferred. CPA (plus)

- Corporate banking experience preferred

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, including 2 years of relevant retail industry experience.

- Inter-company accounting experience and knowledge of multi-currency operations preferred

- Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems

- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Proficient with Microsoft Excel

- Proficient in Hyperion Essbase and AS / 400 (plus)
