Construction Purchasing Manager Opportunity

About the Role

Responsible for the coordination and resolution of project specific Owner Supplied Material (OSM) for Construction and Store Design projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete OSM material takeoffs from architectural plans and executive summary’s, including identification of special conditions or materials needed, for all assigned projects
  • Place orders with pre-selected vendors for OSM to meet project specific deadlines
  • Formulate plans on timing of implementation and adapt as needed
  • Communicate with jobsite superintendents and vendors to coordinate on-time delivery to sites. Verify shipment delivery to ensure completeness and address damage opportunities
  • Partner with management in resolving job site or material related issues on assigned stores from deal acceptance to completion and warranty related issues
  • Provide project costs variances and communicate any issues that affect project forecast
  • Proactively resolve open order issues during project closeout
  • Work with Store Operations and on project specific parts list issues during store openings
  • Maintain productive working relationships with vendors and general contractors
  • Coordinate and track specific shop drawings from vendor submittal for design approval
  • Ensure current Agreements, NDA’s and Contracts with vendors and SLA’s are being met
  • Maintain store takeoffs, reports and review/validate before submittal
  • Manage existing OSM inventory; identify locations for allocation of existing inventory items, track draw down and remaining quantities on spread sheet
  • Prepare and execute major vendor RFP on annual bases
  • Value engineer our process and explore opportunities to improve
About You

  • 5 + years purchasing experience in retail or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience
  • Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills
  • Robust communication and organization skills
  • Experience in sourcing items and negotiating deals
  • Ability to read architectural drawings
  • Maintain deadlines and handle multiple projects successfully
  • Ability to influence others and set high quality standards
