Statutory Compliance Junior Accountant


The Statutory Compliance Junior Accountant provides administrative and accounting support to other members of the statutory compliance team to ensure the timely filing of statutory accounts, tax returns and other statutory documentation.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the filing and archiving of documentation supporting the statutory accounts and tax returns for all companies in Europe.
  • Complete administrative tasks in connection with statutory audits (engagement letters, know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering requests, bank confirmation letters, third party confirmation letters and other) for all companies in Europe.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks such as supplier set-up forms, payment request forms and one-off accounting investigations as necessary.
  • Maintain the statutory and tax fixed asset registers, assist with the set-up of new statutory and tax fixed asset registers.
  • Assist with the set-up and closure of new subaccounts.
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate commercial register entries for all companies in Europe, including changes of registered seat and director changes.
  • Monitor the post-forwarding services in companies with outsourced registered addresses.


Education:
  • Willing to study for a UK accountancy qualification
Experience:
  • Experience in an administrative role or junior accounting role is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in dealing with communication in several languages is an advantage.
Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of several European languages.
  • Computer literate, able to use Microsoft office and email competently.
Skills / Abilities:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
  • Confident user of excel
